Thomas PAPAY's career began in the early 2000s.

After several years as a DJ with New wave, post-punk and cold-wave influences, he moved into electronic production, focusing on vintage synthesizers and drum machines.

Very active on the indus / Techno electronic scene with his projects Le Diktat and Rope, Thomas is already developing a dark, cinematic musical universe with no concessions.

After several critically acclaimed albums released on labels such as Audiotrauma, Kubernoise, OPN records and Syrphe, he has collaborated with artists such as Punish yourself, Sonic area and Niveau zero.

With his new project Modulhater, Thomas has been focusing since 2019 on his Old school Techno inspiration, influenced by the EBM, NEW BEAT and ACID scenes. He will be performing on various stages such as Point FMR, Glazart and Machine du moulin rouge, where he will be sharing the bill with artists such as Krikor, Terence Fixmer and Arnaud Rebotini.

Modulhater also worked with Techno producer GHOST DANCE, with whom he signed two acclaimed collaborations (Malware and Structure) on the prestigious American label Mau5trap (60,000 views on Youtube).

This was followed by his first album, "Velodrome", released on vinyl on Beatsqueeze records / PARIGO, and a number of international productions featuring his tracks on successful series such as La luz Mas Oscura, Kleo (Netflix) and Tokyo Vice (HBO / CANAL+), with the now cult track "Gevaert" (42,000 views on youtube), for which he was nominated and awarded a prize at the 2022 Production Music Awards.

2023 marks Modulhater's return to business with a new album, "Acid Body Music", both explosive and hard-hitting, featuring 12 tracks that once again blend the best of demanding, dark Techno with retro, analog Electro ambiences paying homage to the pioneers of EBM, Rave and Acid Techno.
